Primes

I used to detest prime numbers:
"How arrogant and unbending
Greedy and accumulative,
Unlike the composites
That break and compound",
I used to wonder.

Until I realized:
Primes are the base and block
On which composites are built:
The majestic towers
That shoulder the number world;
The humble foundations
On which the wondrous world 
So rich and expansive
Is ensembled.
Confidence and strength
Masqueraded as arrogant and unbending-

Often misunderstood like the suave women
